Candlebox – I’ve Got a Gun

Candlebox is working towards putting out their fourth studio album, Disappearing in Airports, and have released the song “I’ve Got a Gun” last week. The lyrics are heavily political, speaking to issues of gun control and frontman Kevin Martin’s ideas on the subject; mostly saying that while he doesn’t believe anyone should take away our right to own guns, something needs to be done on the subject. It is more of the closed-mindedness on the subject that has set Martin off for this track. Whether or not you care for the subject matter, the song is fairly good beyond that. The song pops off with a tasty lick front and center, fading in and out of focus for the rest of the song.
