French Montana drops “No Shopping” featuring Drake; Joe Budden responds

This song was teased months ago and was one of the reasons Joe Budden started dissing Drake. There’s been much talk about whether Drake was referencing Budden or not but nonetheless, the battle rages on. Moments after this song was released, Budden responded with…

…”Afraid.” Another lyrical attack on the Toronto emcee.

Jeremih releases surprise mixtape “Late Nights: Europe”

http://www.audiomack.com/embed4-album/jeremih-14/late-nights-europe

While Jeremih was on tour, he recorded songs in several different countries and released them on this newest mixtape, the third installment in the “Late Nights” series.

Fabulous announces “Summertime Shootout 2;” releases new track

Last year, Fab dropped “Summertime Shootout” on Thanksgiving and it was extremely good. Earlier this week, he announced he would be dropping a follow-up the the successful mixtape and dropped “My Shit (Remix)” to go along with the announcement. Hopefully we’ll get the mixtape in the next few weeks.

“FDT 2” straight fire

YG, G-Eazy, and Macklemore just gave Hillary a new campaign anthem. “FDT 2” is an awesome song for so many reasons. I’m not going to get political on you all because, truthfully, I could not care less about politics, but this song is absolutely hilarious and catchy too.

Here’s a nice distraction from whatever you’re doing right now

Khelani continues to put out music this week with her release of “Distraction.” Like the past couple songs, this one is another solid track.

Game and Jeremih comment on the recent tragedies of the world

“Let Me Know” features Game and Jeremih looking deeply into the problems facing the world today. Game has been very active in trying to organize and preach anti-violence in wake of these tragedies that seem to be a weekly occurrence. In addition to that, he continues to make meaningful music.

Lupe Fiasco drops an amazing song

Lupe is back with “Pick up the Phone” and it is a great song. Radio-friendly, but not poppy. Hopefully, this is a sign of more to come from Lupe since he promised 3 albums this year and he hasn’t released 1 yet…and it’s July. Regardless, this song will definitely hold me over for a while.

DJ Drama releases 1st album in 4 years

DJ Drama is most known for hosting the hottest mixtapes but he also dabbles in the album category from time to time. This 10 song offering features many of the game’s best, including Lil Wayne, T.I., Chris Brown, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Gucci Mane has “Everybody Looking” at him

Gucci Mane is out of prison and has wasted no time putting out an album. I’m not really a huge Gucci guy, but this site isn’t just for me. It’s for everyone, so I try to include as much as I can. I’ve listened to most of it and there are definitely some dope songs on here.

New Biebs? Why, not

Ok, so technically it is a Major Lazer song but Bieber is the guy on the vocals for the new jam. He continues to impress me with his growth as an artist. His voice is so impressive and this song will be featured on my party playlist tonight. Vibe out with me.

“A-F-R-O Polo”

I’ve posted about A-F-R-O a few times on this site because I think he’s unbelievable. His flow, style, voice, rhyming ability, etc. it’s all just mesmerizing. He’s so young and has so much time to grow and improve over the years and it’ll be exciting to watch and see how high he can rise. There really is no ceiling to his talent and this EP is a great “start” to his career.

Alright that’s all I got except Chance The Rapper and Big Sean had a track leak called “Living Single” that is so so so good but it has been taken down on your typical sites so you’ll all have to do some digging to hear that but trust me, it is absolutely worth it. And tonight, DJ Khaled is releasing a new single featuring Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean called “Holy Key” so be on the lookout for that. Apparently Kendrick’s verse is insane. Enjoy your weeks, and I’ll check in on you next Friday.

The Review (5/14-5/20)

The face you make when you’re trying to slyly check out the booty but it’s really not that sly because we all know where your eyes are looking. Intro joke is out of the way, now onto some new music.

One thing you “know about us” at ABAD, we give you good music

Euroz is dope. Bottom line. He dropped a project “For No Good Reason” last month and is continuing to drop new music, leading up to the release of his “BIC 2” mixtape in June. Definitely recommend checking him out if you haven’t heard him before.

T.I. drops a “dope” new single

I’ve said on this site before how much I love T.I.’s music. Well this song became an instant favorite. Arguably his best song in years. It features a hook from Marsha Ambrosius and production from the legend Dr. Dre. Beat is straight fire.

SZA drops “twoAM” and a snippet of an upcoming single

“twoAM” is a remix or response (whatever you want to call it) to PND’s “Come and See Me,” offering up a female perspective for the song’s content. As usual, SZA kills it. Really looking forward to her album, which is supposed to drop this year.

Redman teaming up with JayceeOh to form 1000volts

Redman has consistently been a top lyricist in the game so it’s always refreshing to hear what he has to offer. On the song “I’m Gone,” we hear him rapping over a beat he is not accustomed to, but crushes it nevertheless. It’ll be interesting to see what JayceeOh cooks up for Redman in the coming months.

It’s Chance’s world, we’re just living in it

This is a Joey Purp song (he’s an artist on SAVEMONEY) but Chance steals the show. This song has very Pharrell esque beat and both artists spit a smooth flow over it. But realistically, I listened for Chance and I am glad I did. Another great outing for 2016’s MVP so far.

Oh yeah! Killa Cam and Juelz Santana are reunited and it sounds so good

“Oh Yeah” is certainly no “Hey Ma” but it is great to see these two teaming up and making music together again. There was a time when The Diplomats ran the world, creating hit after hit. If this song doesn’t give you nostalgia, I don’t know what will.

Mark Battles, Futuristic, and King Los combine to murder the track

Mark Battles and King Los have been making music together for the past fews years and never disappoint. They both bring completely different vibes to the track but sound so good together. Same thing with “No Love,” and Futuristic comes in and rips it as well. Watch out for Battles’ upcoming project to drop at the end of May.

Wale drops lead single off “S.H.I.N.E.”

Wale’s lead single, “My PYT,” is definitely made for radio play. A DJ Mustard sounding beat backs Wale and Sam Sneak as they sing/rap about their pretty young thing. It’s a decent song but nothing special in my opinion. Time will tell if this one climbs the charts or flops.

Ariana Grande’s new album is here

“Dangerous Woman” is here. I have yet to take a listen but I typically like Grande’s music and am looking forward to seeing how she has evolved since her last album.

That’s about it for this week. Travis Scott dropped two songs I didn’t care for so I didn’t post them but feel free to check those out. Also, Tyga released a song about Cash Money that might be worth checking out. See you next week.

The Review (5/7-5/13)

It must be Christmas because Chance The Rapper gave the world a gift today. Let’s see what else dropped this past week.

Lloyd is back from an extended hiatus

You guys and gals remember Lloyd? It seemed like he was one of the go-to guys for hooks in like 2012-2013 and then he just disappeared. Well he is back with his new single “Tru” and it is quite good.

More Chris Brown this week

I don’t have much information on this song, it seems like it might be a leftover or a song he chose to release for no particular reason but nonetheless, this song is beautiful. Backed by piano and guitar, Brown croons soulfully over the beat. This is where Chris Brown really shines in my opinion, when he sings and shows off his incredible voice.

Sean Kingston with the heat!

Sean Kingston tries out a new sound for this new jam “All I Got” and it works well. This version, featuring Migos member Quavo, is hottttt. Kingston kills the hook and Quavo lends a solid verse to make one good song, ready for the dance floor this summer.

Mistah F.A.B., Kendrick, and KXNG Crooked bring the heat

What a song. Kendrick delivers the opening verse and it sounds like an old verse, but that doesn’t matter at all (it’s fire). Then, Kobe sings a dope hook and Mistah F.A.B. drops another solid verse. The song wraps up with a dope verse from KXNG Crooked, who is one of the best lyricists in the game.

Starvation 5 is on the way

I’ve been rocking with Ace Hood since I heard his mixtape “Body Bag.” He always brings an intensity to his raps that is matched by few others. He also has some of the best flows out there year after year. “All The Way G” is worth the listen.

Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa team up for “All Night”

Just your typical turn up song curtesy of Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa with production from TM88.

ScHoolboy Q drops Kanye assisted single “That Part”

Get Top on the phone! The TDE takeover continues with ScHoolboy Q’s new single “That Part,” which features a verse from Kanye West. The two spit over a menacing beat. This song will appear on Q’s upcoming album. Hears to hoping that drops soon.

Chance3 aka “Coloring Book”

Apologies to all the Drake and Kanye stans out there but Chance just dropped the project of the year (so far). The kid is a musical genius and you’ll realize that after just one listen. I have been listening to this all day and will continue to do so for the next week or two or three. Who knows. It is THAT good. Best of all, all of Chance’s music is free. So check this mixtape out, and check out all his old stuff too. You will not be disappointed.

That should cover the good stuff from this week. Enjoy people.

10 (More) Remixes You Need In Your Life

A while back, I made a list of some remixes I felt were worth checking out. The great thing about music is that remixes happen so often, I have plenty more where that came from. So here are 10 more remixes you should check out.

  • Classic Man (Remix)- Jidenna (ft Kendrick Lamar)

If you were alive last year, you remember this song. It was everywhere and played all the time. It’s a good song that Kendrick Lamar makes even better with a couple fire verses.

  • About The Money (Remix)- T.I. (ft Jeezy, Young Thug, Lil Wayne)

This song is that hot trap music from the ATL legend T.I. It isn’t the heavy bass trap music you are thinking of though. The beat is more sophisticated and laid back in a sense, but still very dope. I like this version better than the original.

  • Don’t Wait (Remix)- Mapei (ft Chance The Rapper)

It is no secret that the writers of this site love Chance. However, I’m not sure if the other guys have heard this absolute gem. The original is a really chill song and Chance adds a verse that is straight poetic beauty. Definitely worth a listen and will be stuck in your head in no time.

  • TKO (Black Friday Remix)- Justin Timberlake (ft J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Pusha T)

Justin Timberlake is the man. I have made my affection for him no secret. But this song is more about the three rappers who take a re-worked TKO beat and rip it to pieces. All three artists deliver great verses with different flows to create one memorable remix.

  • All Gold Everything (Remix)- Trinidad James (ft T.I., Jeezy, 2 Chainz)

Remember a few years ago when Trinidad James, for reasons I still do not understand, was hot? Since the original version of this song dropped, James has been on a steady decline to irrelevancy. It might be because it is infinitely better than the original but this remix is awesome. 2 Chainz verse makes me laugh.

  • One Blood (Mega-Remix)- Game (ft 24 Artists)

Yes, this is a long song and many of you are not capable of keeping interest for 12 minutes but this is one of the most well known remixes in hip-hop history. It features 24 artists, including Nas, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Jadakiss, and so the list goes. A ton of huge names on a huge remix makes for a worthwhile listen.

  • She Don’t Put It Down Like You (Remix)- Joe Budden (ft Fabolous, Twista, Turk)

A fun song with a few great rappers and a hook from the impressive Turk makes this remix one you’ll enjoy. I remember this snuck onto a few pregame playlists of ours back in the day.

  • Deuces (Remix)- Chris Brown (ft Drake, T.I., Kanye West, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Andre 3000)

Look at the artists featured on this remix. That is reason enough to press play. You will not be disappointed. Side note: Fab is getting a lot of features on this list. Not intentional, he’s just that good.

  • Get By (Remix)- Talib Kweli (ft Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mos Def, Busta Rhymes)

You’ve probably heard the original before. But this remix over the Kanye produced beat is unreal. Jay, Ye, Talib, Busta Rhymes and Mos Def all come through and do their thing. You have to listen to this.

  • Made You Look (Remix)- Nas (ft Jadakiss, Ludacris)

Three legends, one remix, it doesn’t get much better than this. Just listen to it because I don’t really have words to describe how great this is.

Sorry 4 The Wait

This past weekend you may have been asking yourself, “How come my favorite writer, G Baby, hasn’t posted in a week?” I would like to apologize for my absence as I had every intention of writing a couple blogs for you. Unfortunately, I was away on business (aka visiting a friend and drinking excessively for no reason) and this friend did not have wifi. So last night when I got back I thought of a way to make it up to you all. Here are 4 tracks that I would’ve posted about, including the always popular throwback Thursday track that I know you so desperately missed this week. Sorry 4 the wait everyone. Enjoy!

Bad- Michael Jackson

One of the best MJ songs of all time. Throw this on at any time and feel the groove.

Bake Sale- Wiz Khalifa (ft Travis Scott)

Shoutout to Pittsburgh as the hometown kid drops a hot new track featuring Travis Scott, who continues his hot streak with another catchy hook.

Gangsta Walk- SNBRN (ft Nate Dogg)

Anytime a song with unreleased Nate Dogg vocals comes out, best believe I’m listening. Using his vocals for a house jam is a pretty sweet idea and I think SNBRN nailed it. This song bumps.

All My Friends- Snakehips (ft Tinashe, Chance The Rapper)

spotify:track:6TaqooOXAEcijL6G1AWS2K

Amin posted a remix to this song yesterday but I’ve been listening to the original version of this song on repeat since I first heard it last week. Not much more to say than it is phenomenal with great vocals, a great beat, and a great verse from a great rapper.

Angels – Chance The Rapper (feat Saba)

So Chance the Acid Rapper debuted his new song “Angels” last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and killed the game. This song is backed by some funky, unique, chancy sounds that work perfectly with Chance’s off the books delivery.

If you play this at your next pregame/party someone is going to walk up to you and shake your hand out of respect. It’s always a good feeling when an artist like this continues to churn out radical, out of this world (literally) songs… Keep it up Chance!

Sunday Candy – Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

Life is good when musicians pursue something that may not be popular to the mainstream but comes from something special they have in their minds. The debut album by The Social Experiment, “Surf”  can be described as something different for sure and for me, this is where I hope hip-hop sounds go in the future (I wouldn’t be upset if Fetty Wap didn’t make another 1738 song).

My favorite track off of the album is “Sunday Candy” posted above because it has everything that is great about the album in one song. The production of the song is perfection, bringing together trumpet samples from Nico Segal (a.k.a. Donnie Trumpet) as well as the beautiful vocals from Jamila Woods. Chance does what Chance does best and lays down lyrics that would literally burn you if you tried to touch them(that means they are good) as well as harmonizing with Jamila Woods to make the ultimate unique sound.

For those devoted music fans or for someone looking for something different I posted the entire album below, I highly encourage all you children to listen.

KYLE- Remember Me? (ft Chance The Rapper)

Anything the Savemoney crew touches right now is money.  Chance The Rapper is one of the brightest young talents in hip hop today.  Vic Mensa is blowing up quick, getting co signs from the like of Kanye West.  Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment dropped the very excellent album “Surf” for free on iTunes (which was downloaded over 618,000 times in its first week, along with over 10 million individual song downloads).  Now it is KYLE’s turn.

I first heard KYLE on the track “Wanna Be Cool” off of “Surf.”  He has an excellent verse so I decided to check out his music and was not disappointed.  This new track is a soulful ballad of KYLE pondering about a girl remembering him.  Chance sings a beautiful hook for the song and KYLE delivers two verses filled with emotion.  KYLE’s album “Smyle,” which features this song, drops October 2nd.
