Porter Robinson & Madeon Have Finally United… AND IT’S GLORIOUS

Porter and Madeon

Preface: Contrary to the picture above, Madeon (pictured left) and Porter Robinson (pictured right) are not dropping an Emo album.

Now that that’s out of the way…

Wow! What a time to be alive people.

After 2 extremely successful solo albums, Porter and Madeon have finally made their fan’s dreams come true by dropping an enchanting collaboration they’re calling Shelter.

Here’s just a glimpse of the hysteria that has been unleashed throughout the internet since this song dropped just hours ago…

(not super sure what to make of the third person’s comment but you get the point)

Anywho, what’s even better is that Porter and Madeon also announced that they will be embarking on a Shelter Live Tour this fall, hitting select cities across the US & Canada. Right now they have 17 shows lined up with more to be announced. Presale tickets should be live on August 15th. Here’s the link. (p.s. If you’re reading this Porter or Madeon ,please add a show in NYC. Thank you)

As longtime fans of both Porter and Madeon, I, I’m sure along with countless others appreciate their unique styles, ability to take risks, and overall approach to their music. Everything we love about them can be reflected in their comments on the new track.

In regards to working with Porter, Madeon mentions:

“Both Porter and I started working with people in-person when we started making our respective albums and appreciated how much more collaborative you can get. Our intent was to make music that would reflect our friendship.”

Porter adds:

“I see enthusiasm and inspiration as the most important currency you can have when you’re making music. It’s this weird sensation of being drunk on your own confidence and excitement that leads to so many creative breakthroughs. That effect was really exaggerated when we were working together.”

It’s so refreshing to hear these two talk about their craft and the wholehearted and genuine effort that goes into it.

If you’ve never seen either of them live they truly put on a spectacular show so I can’t even imagine a back to back Porter and Madeon set. It’s mindbottling just thinking about it.

So keep your eyes peeled for more show dates and be sure to support their new single Shelter.

Until next time,
