The Review (7/30-8/5)

I made this same exact face when I saw that both Frank Ocean and Travis Scott failed to come through on their promises to drop albums yesterday.

Rae Sremmurd drops “Look Alive” remix

One of the songs of the summer in hip-hop has been Sremmurd’s “Look Alive.” A week away from their new album coming out, they decided to boost the already popular song with a remix featuring Migos.

Afrojack recruits Ty Dolla $ign for new single “Gone”

EDM producer Afrojack seems to be gearing up to release a new album and has dropped off the first single. Ty Dolla provides the vocals for this new jam, that is sure to get some radio play over the next few weeks.

More new PND for your weekend

Next week, PARTYNEXTDOOR will be dropping “P3” and there have been a steady stream of leaks leading up to it. This newest one, “Don’t Do It For You No More,” is vintage PND. You can really see how much he has influenced label-mate Drake with this kind of music. Positive vibes all around with this song.

2 Chainz drops new album

2 Chainz delivered some new music this Friday with his new album “Daniel Son; Necklace Don.” I doubt I’ll listen to this more than once, if I even listen to it at all, as I’m not a huge 2 Chainz guy except when he’s a featured artist. But if you like his music, check this shit out.

DJ Snake dropping some heat this week

I mostly keep it hip-hop and R&B in this section but every now and then I like to throw in some other genres to keep things fresh. DJ Snake released an album yesterday that has some really good songs on it. I listened to a couple tracks on it because of the features and enjoyed them. Some of the artists on the album are Jeremih, Young Thug, Migos, Travis Scott, and Justin Beiber.

The Suicide Squad soundtrack is probably the hottest thing out this week

The highly anticipated movie dropped on Friday to some not so great reviews and so did the equally (well, maybe a notch less) anticipated soundtrack. I saw the movie this morning and actually enjoyed it, despite what all those mean critics are saying. The soundtrack is dope though, whether you like the movie or not so check it out for sure.

Alright that’s it for me. I got some stuff to do but I didn’t want you to be without you dose of me this week. Have a good one, people.
