Run-D.M.C. – Raising Hell

30 years ago, on July 15th, 1986, Run-D.M.C.’s Raising Hell became the first rap album to be certified platinum. This was the group’s third album, but it was definitely the album that gave them their break, and also proved that hip hop groups had a place in the mainstream market. Their remix of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” no doubt brought skeptics of the genre in to check out the rest of the album, and with other classics like “It’s Tricky”, “My Adidas”, and “You Be Illin'”, this album broke new group for not just Run-D.M.C., but for all of hip hop. So sit back and enjoy some classic jams today.
