Though at the time of release 27 years ago on June 15, 1989, Nirvana’s debut album Bleach was somewhat of a flop, the album has gone on to become on of the best selling albums of the genre. Looking back at interviews from the time, not even the band had any idea what they had created with this disc. In a lot of ways they were just as unsure as the public was when the album was released with basically no advertising. But we all know that that uncertainty was misguided and where Nirvana would go on to. So enjoy Bleach today, if you like, and remind yourself where it all started for Nirvana.
