This song dropped last week and I planned on posting it in the weekly review but as you know, I was unable to post last week. But I felt this was the must post track of the week. Hopsin details the falling out with Damien Ritter, Funk Volume’s co-owner and CEO. The collapse of FV came as a surprise early this year when Hopsin made the announcement on his Facebook and Twitter pages with a series of posts over a 3 day span. Hopsin absolutely destroys Ritter in these verses. It is a viscous and unforgiving attack on Ritter, who Hopsin blames for the FV break-up. There are of course two sides to every story, but Hop made his case in emphatic fashion here. He also shouts out label mates Dizzy Wright, Jarren Benton, SwizZz, and DJ Hoppa, making it clear he has no hard feelings towards them and wishes them he best of luck (which is great to see because these guys have made some great music together over the past few years). Hopefully all these artists can continue to strive on the independent scene.
