Queen – A Night at the Opera

Plain and simple, if you don’t like Queen, you’re probably wrong. I know someone that listens almost exclusively to black/death metal and they still love Queen. So here we are, with one of Queen’s finest albums, A Night at the Opera, which went Gold on this day in 1976, 40 years ago today. An album hits Gold usually at the sale of 500,000 units (by US standards). A Night at the Opera was the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of its release, and is an amazing album. It embodies what Queen is all about so well. The style for track to track spans the entire genre of rock music. The album has everything, amazing ballads, progressive rock epics, hard rockin jams, and so much more. And of course, this is the album that gave us “Bohemian Rhapsody” and if that isn’t cause for sharing, I don’t know what is.
