Wolfmother, who you probably know from their 2006 hit “Joker and the Thief”, have a new album coming in February and just put out a taste of what’s on the horizon. “Gypsy Caravan” feels like a classic rock song, taking some clear inspirations from Ozzy era Black Sabbath. This song doesn’t mess around with getting you into it, opening right up with the main riff. The vocals sit on top of the instruments nicely, except for the chorus where there is a brief pause in the riff to let the vocals really stand out, which is one of my favorite things in music when it’s done right. And this is a great example of how to do that right. A solid track, that’s definitely got me looking forward to checking out their album Victorious when it comes out.
