A Quick Tribute to Lemmy

A true rock and roll legend died today. Often called The Godfather of Metal, Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister, bassist and lead singer of Motörhead, passed away on December 28, just 4 days after celebrating his 70th birthday. Among other musical endeavors, Lemmy spent 40 years with Motörhead after founding the band in 1975 and produced 22 studio albums, in addition to a ton of live albums.

I put together a small playlist of some of Motörhead’s biggest hits, as well as some of my favorite songs from them (at least from what’s on Spotify. 22 albums is a hell of a lot). I hope you’ll enjoy it. Motörhead is one of my favorite bands, and even though I haven’t gotten to post much and find out what you all wanna get out of this section of A Beat A Day, this is a post I wanted to share.

As Lemmy said at some point in every show, “We are Motörhead, and we play Rock and Roll.” So enjoy, and Rest Easy, Lemmy.

Thank you.
