As great as James Bond films are on their own, the theme song always seems to get as much hype as the movie. We all remember Adele’s amazing performance for Skyfall. Rumors were going around before the release of Spectre in early November about who would get the honor this time around, and Radiohead was one of the names going around. Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the Wall was used as the official theme song, but yesterday Radiohead both confirmed they were asked to write a song for the film and released it. There is a strong, dark vibe in the vocals and orchestral swells in the song that play really well together and drive this song to be something great.
Here is the official theme song, Writing’s on the Wall by Sam Smith as well, in case you wanted to compare both for yourself.
