It’s the holiday season and there’s plenty of reasons to be in a good mood. You’re going home to see the family you don’t always see. You’re surrounded by amazing food and nice alcohol (thank god) and you get to see your friends you grew up with. It’s my favorite 6 weeks of the entire year (The week of thanksgiving until New Years) because of these reasons.
But I’m posting this song because it’s the time of year where you have the EXACT same conversation with 1,000,000 people.
Relative: “Wow Teej I can’t believe you’re already *insert age here. * Where does the time go”
Me: “Yea I know it’s crazy. I can’t believe I’m gonna graduate in May. These 4 years went by so fast”
Relative: “I remember when you were up to here *holds hand up to their knee* now just look at you. So handsome”
For the record every relative has to tell you that you look good, so I’m not just patting myself on the back here. Nobody’s gonna go up to you and say, “Teej what the hell happened to you. You look like someone beat you with an ugly stick”
Me: “Thanks I appreciate it. How’s everything going”
Relative: “Everything’s going well here…so what are you doing next year”
It’s at that very moment when the conversation goes into free fall and just crashes and burns. The feared question, “What are you doing in the future?” And this Jon Bellion song is the perfect answer to that question. This one’s for everyone who doesn’t have all their plans figured out yet and are just trying to enjoy your holiday.
