Tomorrowland: The Biggest Party on the Planet

For those of you who use snap chat on a daily basis, you should’ve noticed a “Tomorrowland” live feed from the Belgian festival this weekend. If you’re even remotely a fan of EDM you know what Tomorrowland is and we’re all dying to go. In 2014 they sold 360,000 tickets in an hour, completely selling out two weekends in 60 minutes. That is RIDICULOUS. People from every corner of the planet are trying to grab a ticket to this dream-like festival, and for good reason. Here’s last years aftermovie to give you all the feels. It’s worth every second

Tomorrowland takes place in the countryside of Belgium in a town called Boom which is between Brussels and Antwerp, and has become one of the most desirable music festivals despite only being 11 years old. And having this festival in a town called “Boom” is the most appropriate name I can possibly think of. The festival has come a long way since its first show in 2005, and it seems like it keeps getting better and better every year.

The lineup is second to none, with every producer you can imagine coming together for a weekend of laughs, smiles, and a whole lot of dancing. Seriously I can’t imagine being surrounded by 180,000 people all in the best mood just trying to have the best time possible. Check out this awesome view from 2013 of the amazing crowd. The sound isn’t ideal but all you need is to see the energy the crowd brings to make you wanna be right in the middle of it. (fast forward to 50 seconds in)

If you don’t think that’s awesome then I actually feel bad for you…Over 100,000 people losing it at the same time. People always say that EDM is just a bunch of annoying sounds and that it all sounds the same, and I can see why they think that. But the atmosphere that comes from being at a concert like this is what sets EDM apart from other music. The crowd makes it that much better. Not to sound like an EDM snob, cause I appreciate all different kinds of music, I just want to clarify what makes EDM enjoyable to a lot of people.

One thing I read about that I feel like a lot of people don’t know about is the “Church of Love.” It’s a makeshift pink chapel that is set up for you and your significant other, whether it be your soulmate or someone you met 10 minutes ago, to do whatever you want (wink wink). There are 2 “nuns” that stand outside and will hand you a welcome card with a free latex (you know what’s not lame? Safety) I couldn’t help but kinda laugh that this is actually a thing, but anything goes at Tomorrowland

Even the flight is a party…

Everything about this festival is over the top in the best ways. The stage is incredible, the people are amazing, and the experience is truly priceless. If I know one thing it’s that I absolutely have to go to Belgium to witness this with my own eyes. One day I’ll get there.

PS–I know there’s also Tomorrowworld in Atlanta and Tomorrowland Brazil, which are also very awesome. But in my opinion, going to Atlanta instead of Belgium would pretty much be like saying you went to Disneyland in California instead of going to DisneyWorld in Orlando, which is an abomination. If I’m making this commitment, I’m going all in and flying to Belgium, no doubt about it.

Click here for all the sets that are posted. Oliver Heldens, Armin Van Buuren and Dillon Francis are the first 3 I’ve listened to and they’re all fuego. I’m sure the rest are as well. Enjoy
