(Yes that is Kenny riding in through the crowd for his opening song)
Let’s start off with some do’s and don’ts of tailgating a country concert. DO: bring all of the beer, bring lots of food, and stay in the shade. DONT: bring only 9 beers for 8 people (4 being boys), stand in the 100 degree heat sweating your balls off, spend 1000 dollars on shitty beer in the concert.
Now that we have established that, I can tell you that when Chewb and I went to see Kenny and Eric Church at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly, we did not bring all of the beer and we did spend too much money in the concert on shitty beer. My family was with us and my dad grossly underestimated how much everyone was going to drink. Lucky for him, we had to jump someone’s car and they gave us plenty of jello shots and beer.
Back to the music, I am going to be honest and say that Eric Church has been my favorite country artist for years and this was the first time I was able to go see him. I was not disappointed. Absolutely amazing vocals and the band was incredible, I had so much fun dancing and singing along (Even if I dance like one of those babies that just goes up and down a million times). Kenny was amazing as well, his songs are all so easy to sing and dance along with and a lot of them just make me feel like I’m sitting on the beach.
All in all, it was an incredible concert that I would definitely go see again (even with the beer disaster).
The video at the top of this post is long (7 minutes), but it’s Erich Church live on a radio station and his voice is a literal angel singing to you from the heavens. So if you love his music, take a listen (I promise it’s worth the 7 minutes).
